Ukulele as a Percussion Instrument?

Yep! You can just hit it. Some Ukes sound great as a bongo / cajón etc. ?

Not a new concept, I know.

Many great ukulele players combine chords and melody with percussive rhythms; Awesome, right? We all wish we could do that well.

But when we play rhythm ukulele, especially as part of a larger group or band, do we cross over into the realm of rhythm / percussion instruments?

Like many Pitched Percussion and Melodic Percussion instruments, the ukulele can be played as rhythm and beat for other players and instruments to play along with.

Another view on ukulele versatility. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
